Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how MarginCrew LLC, the Michigan limited liability company that offers MarginBrace ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you visit or use the current MarginBrace website, free job-pricing calculator, and optional Pro beta workspace (the "Service"). Pro beta is currently free and does not process subscription payments.

2. Calculator information

Labor hours, labor rates, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, overhead, contingency, fees, margins, and tax rates you enter are calculated locally in your browser when you use the free calculator. The free calculator does not send those values to Company servers or store them in a MarginBrace account or database.

Copy and print functions operate through your browser and device. If you copy, print, save, or share a result, your browser, operating system, printer, storage provider, or recipient may process that information under its own practices.

When you intentionally save a job in Pro beta, its customer details, notes, cost inputs, calculated price, and margin results are sent to and stored by MarginBrace so the signed-in user can retrieve them.

3. Information processed automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically process basic request and technical information needed to deliver and protect the Service. This can include IP address, browser and device type, requested page, date and time, referring page, approximate region derived from IP address, and security or error events.

MarginBrace does not install advertising pixels or analytics cookies. We may use privacy-focused aggregate traffic measurement from our hosting provider, including Cloudflare Web Analytics, as well as strictly necessary technologies for routing, authentication, load balancing, abuse prevention, and security.

4. Information you choose to provide

Pro beta sign-in provides a stable account identifier and email address through the sign-in service. Pro beta may store business branding and defaults; price-book items; and job information such as customer name, contact details, job location, scope notes, costs, price, tax, status, and estimate dates. Do not enter payment-card data, Social Security numbers, medical information, or other information that is unnecessary for preparing the estimate.

If you contact MarginBrace, we process the contact details and message you provide to respond, maintain business records, prevent abuse, and comply with law. The public support channel appears below.

5. How information is used

Information may be used to:

• deliver, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
• authenticate Pro users and keep saved records separated by account;
• generate saved pricing history and printable estimates;
• detect fraud, abuse, attacks, or technical failures;
• respond to questions or requests you send;
• keep legal, tax, accounting, and operational records; and
• comply with law and enforce our agreements.

6. When information may be disclosed

We may disclose information:

• to hosting, authentication, security, communications, and professional-service providers working for us;
• when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests;
• to protect users, MarginBrace, the Company, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm; or
• as part of a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of business assets, subject to appropriate protections.

The Company does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that practice ever changes, we will update this policy and provide legally required choices before beginning the new practice.

7. Retention

MarginBrace does not retain inputs from the free calculator. Pro beta records are generally retained while the signed-in account uses Pro or until they are deleted through the Service or a verified deletion request, subject to backups, fraud prevention, dispute records, and legal obligations. Hosting and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for delivery, security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and provider operations.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information we process. Pro routes require authenticated user identity, and server-side ownership checks are used for saved records. No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You may use the free calculator without creating an account or providing contact information. In Pro beta, you may edit business settings and delete individual jobs or price-book items. You may sign out at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about personal data we hold. The Company will evaluate authenticated requests under applicable law.

Requests may be sent to support@marginbrace.com. We may need information sufficient to verify a request and locate responsive records.

10. Children

The Service is designed for adult contractors and business operators, not children under 13. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we received such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

11. United States operation

MarginBrace is operated by a United States company. If you access the Service from another country, technical information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location. The initial public launch is intended for United States users.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised policy and update its effective date. Paid checkout, advertising pixels, or materially different data collection will require this policy to be reviewed before that feature is enabled.
